Book Review Pt.2: We Were Liars (By E. Lockhart)

Salve, friends! You might wanted to boost your summer reading list! So you start searching on popular books review. Is it worth it? Is it boring? Is it thrilling? In this post today, I'm going to review one of the most popular book in the book industry (If it actually existed :P)! And the star in today's show goes to

"We Were Liars" by E. Lockhart. Let's get started.

A. Synopsis & Description

The perfect and wealthy Sinclair family is always spending their summers in the private island. Behind that picture perfect family, hides secrets and lies.

Cadence Easton, which her mother was part of the Sinclair's lived a luxurius life. Her whole life changed when one summer she started a realitonship with Gat Patil, whose uncle is dating Cadence aunt.

This book contains 320 pages and it isn't a hardcover book.

B. Review

The story is a relatively slow paced plot. Starting from romance, the book is about unrequited and slow romance. If you love Young Adult (YA) books, then you should put this book in your list. But if you're more into dark and possesive kind of love story, not for you. I would recommend books like the Inheritance Games or Verity (Mystery/Romance book).

This story contains a lot of metaphor, which might make you guessing and puzzled up sometimes. Cadence Easton in the story has a headache and amnesia, which makes her forget things and a confusing narrator. The drama in the story doesn't really heats up and not the type of soap opera drama. This is more into a slow paced drama and the quiet one. It might get really boring for you if you love straight-forward, thrilling, and hot drama.

This story starts slow, but in the middle of the story there's a big twisted plot that changes everything. It is such an unexpected plot and you can't guess it. I am actually satisfied with the ending, even though that's not what I expected. The ending is a bit sad, I said. You love a classic good fairytale ending? Apparently this book doesn't end like that.

The characters were great. The writing style, I cannot say it. But the way E. Lockhart makes us confused by Cadence story (Because of amnesia) is just brilliant and smart for me (Maybe because my head is slow).

In the end, the morals were great. This was a pretty realistic book and I that's a plus point for me. It ends with a lot of morals behind those puzzled up metaphors....

We have come to an end of this post! Makes sure to leave a comment a like, if you enjoy it. IF you have advice or ideas, put it in the comment section! Thank you and ciao for now.
