Book Review Pt. 1: A Good Girl's Guide to Murder (By: Holly Jackson)

Hello y'all! How are you? You see, a lot of people have recommended in BookTok, Goodreads, etc. And yeah, I've finished this book a while ago, and I was thinking on reviewing it! So welcome to the first series of "Book Review."

Let's get started!

A. Synopsis

Let me start with the introduction of the story. Five years ago, a school girl named Andie Bell was believed to be murdered by her boyfriend, Sal Singh, whom commited suicide. Strangely, her body was never found.
Pippa Fitz-Amobi, a young teenager from Fairview, Connecticut, choose that case to make a study of it for her final year project at school. Together with Sal Singh brother, Ravi, Pippa unraveled back the case, she found a lot of dark secrets behind it.

B. Review

The story starts smooth and good. The plot and its branches really went smooth. I love how Holly Jackson always keep me guessing every single time a clue popped. This story is so thrilling and the writing style is just amazing!

Romance? Yeah, if you're searching a romance book, this isn't the right book. Its not like there is zero romance, but not that much to be honest. But I love when a book just put the right amount of romance to its plot. Speaking of which, the characters in this story is great.

Everything goes well until the end. The end, well...I don't know how to explain it. Its just...cheap. The whole story, from the opening until the anticlimax is just fantastic. But the ending, I just feel I was reading a literal soap opera. Why? Moral deficiency, I think. When Pippa was trying to do something good by doing bad things, that just feel like watching soap opera. But again, what story doesn't added a little bit of bad things, right? Nonetheless, I was hoping at least the ending would have a moral. Apparently, there was none

C. Overall

Overall I think it was a pretty decent book. It was gracefully written. If you love thriller/mystery book, I would recommend this book.
Nevertheless, I'm just dissapointed with the ending. But again, its just my opinion. So if you're still interested with the book, go to your nearest book store and buy it.

Thank you so much for reading my first series. I know I'm a bit late, but I hope its still useful! And as always, ciao for now!
