Olympus Mons, the highest volcano in the solar system is located in planet Mars. How is it possible that in a planet that smaller than us, have a higher volcano? That's so not fair, right?

A. Introducing Olympus Mons

Mons means mountain in Latin words. So, is it Mount Olympus the house of twelve ancient Greek Gods? No!
Olympus Mons is a shield volcano. Perhaps if you don't know shield volcano, it's a volcano that has a shape like a shield.
Olympus Mons is formed during hesperian period, which is a period where there is big volcanic activity and great flood that leads to catastrophe.
It's about two and a half time our highest mountain, Everest, from above sea level.
Olympus Mons is in Tharsis Montes region.

B. Why is it so high?

Well, in Mars, they don't have tectonic plates that move over volcano. The tectonic plates is to take hold the growing of the volcano, so in Mars, you could built higher volcano! Plus, the lower gravity pushed magma into great height.

Well, well, so I think that's the explanations I could give it to you. If you have more questions/request or if you know more about the Olympus Mons, share it in the comment! Thank you😀.
